Maria Nowak is an internationally recognized visual artist and dedicated educator who brings more than 30 years of artistic experience to House of Music PSL (HOM Arts) and HOM Academy. Born in Nisko, Poland, Maria is a painter, photographer, sculptor, and metalwork artist widely known for her distinctive mixed media techniques and visually powerful compositions.

Maria received her formal art education at the Piotr Michalowski School of Fine Arts and Design in Rzeszów, Poland (1991). She earned her diploma in Fine Applied Metal Arts under Prof. Jan Bechta and Prof. Jan Madej, studied sculpture under Prof. Piotr Kida, and refined her painting and drawing techniques with Prof. Jerzy Szymański.

Since 2002, Maria has been selected for numerous juried art exhibitions across the state and has earned multiple awards in both mixed media and photography. Her signature method creating textured compositions using natural seeds such as corn, beans, sesame, poppy, and other grains results in highly unique landscapes, floral works, and portraits with remarkable depth and dimension.

Her art has been displayed in galleries and institutions throughout Poland, France, and the United States, and forms part of many private collections worldwide.

 HOM Academy Role

In addition to her artistic work, Maria serves as an Assistant Teacher at HOM Academy, supporting students in classroom activities and creative learning. She also leads Sensory Play sessions for neurodivergent children, providing structured, hands-on activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and engagement through textures, colors, and materials. Her calm, nurturing approach makes her an essential support for students who benefit from sensory-based learning experiences.
