Sheila Martins Freitas is a highly accomplished music educator, pianist, vocalist, and children’s music specialist with more than 30 years of experience teaching students from early childhood through high school. Sheila teaches at both House of Music PSL and HOM Academy, where she delivers high-quality, developmentally appropriate music instruction rooted in decades of professional expertise.
Sheila holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance, and a Postgraduate Degree in Neuroscience and Education. Her classical training includes piano, harmony, music theory, choral conducting, instrumental ensembles, and children’s musicalization. Her rich background as both an educator and performing musician allows her to integrate strong musicianship with effective pedagogical methods.
She has extensive experience teaching piano, keyboard, voice, recorder, ukulele, music theory, and early childhood music in schools, studios, conservatories, and community programs. Sheila has also served as a choral conductor, workshop presenter, and performer in music groups for major events, media programs, and cultural institutions.
She specializes in Adaptive Music, providing inclusive, accessible musical experiences for neurodivergent students using structured routines, sensory-friendly strategies, and engaging activities designed to meet each learner where they are.
